Remember when we had you creating your own little digital assassins in some early marketing for Assassin’s Creed Unity? Hundreds of thousands of Assassin’s Creed fans did just that, and 1400 of the very best ones, os voted by gamers, were used in this rather cool interactive trailer for the game.

“Over several months, the community created and voted for their favourite Assassins that would feature in the trailer.  Over 200,000 Assassins were designed, with the top 1,400 making the cut.  At any moment in the trailer, the community can pause and zoom in on any Assassin, allowing them to spot their creations in action.  A gigapan will also be released that features every single Assassin’s in the one image.,” says the press release we received this morning that I’ve rather blatantly copied and pasted from.

“The Assassin’s Creed universe lives through its fans’, and this trailer is an amazing opportunity for them to be part of the campaign. They can see their own Assassin running through the streets, breaking into buildings and parkouring on Paris’ rooftops” said Guillaume Carmona, Marketing Director at Ubisoft EMEA.  “We wanted to take the interactive and social aspect of gaming to the next level.”

The interactive trailer can be dicked about with, revealing a couple of hidden secrets for the more intrepid explorers among you. You can see the whole thing here: www.assassinscreed.com/unite-trailer. The astute, or eagle-eyed among you may notice on particular assassin belong to somebody who frequents this place, being Martin du Preez – otherwise known to you lot as the Sony-loving Assassin’s Creed fanboy D4RKL1NG. That misstep aside, it’s actually a pretty cool trailer.

The game is out next month for PC and new consoles.
