Two Point Studios, the developer behind the successful spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, Two Point Hospital has been acquired by SEGA. The developer started working the publisher as part of SEGA Euorpe’s Searchlight programme in 2017, and is now wholly owned by SEGA Europe. It joins other studios like Creative Assembly, Sports Interactive, Relic Entertainment, Amplitude Studios and HARDlight in the SEGA Europe stable.
“We’re delighted to welcome Two Point Studios officially in to the SEGA family. As a relatively new, British-based developer with a global hit already under their belts, we knew we had to move quickly on this deal because they are an extremely attractive investment proposition with a great deal of talent,” said Gary Dale, President/COO for SEGA Europe Ltd. “The Searchlight team at SEGA Europe have done a fantastic job integrating the studio over the past two years and the studio have gone on to produce a fantastic title with clear franchise potential.”
Two Point was created by former Bullfrog and Lionhead staff Gary Carr, Mark Webley and Ben Hymers, and have worked on games like Black and White, Alien: Isolation and Fable. Last year, they released Two Point Hospital, which went on to receive both critical and commercial success.

There’s no word on what’s next for the studio, but they do suggest there’ll be more quirky management sims stuff in the pipeline.
