Now it’s no secret that I don’t understand or like most of the European PlayStation adverts. The this is living campaign was a complete abomination for example.
However when they started the Black Orchid campaign I thought they had finally gotten a decent head of marketing and the weird was finally behind them…
Well that appears to not be the case, the latest advert out of Vienna not only makes absolutely no sense but is also quite disturbing in a bad sort of way.
For some obscure reason the advertising company thought a good advert would be a picture of a naked man with a thumb where his penis should be… yes that is all….
So is this some hoax or is it real? I can find no reason to not believe it even though it is terrible so I am guessing it was a valid attempt…

Does PlayStation really think that gamers are gay?
Or maybe the market research shows that PS3 gamers are gay and that all the harcore really seriously straight gamers are XBOX 360 gamers?
What does this say for the MGS4 launch?? Naked pics of Solid Snake. Maybe there is a pun in the “snake” bit?
All in all this ad is in VERY bad taste.
PS South Africa needs to stand up and clear their brand!!

Look at top right of picture. seems to have a playboy/playgirl logo. maybe its an add in the playgirl? (gay magazine/womens magazine)

well if you look closely (at the logo) you’ll note it’s the Playboy stamp… and the logo is incorrect as well, so I’m not even sure if this is an authorized ad by Playboy, besides as said previously this ad would go in a Playgirl mag… for girls!
