EA has confirmed overnight that SimCity is finally coming back and surprisingly it’s a real SimCity title that is only going to be available on PC.

I can’t help but be a little disappointed that I won’t be able to build my empire on the console but I guess it is good news that they are sticking to the hardcore SimCity ideology and haven’t decided to try mainstream the game to much.

This will be the 5th SimCity in the series but will simply be titled SimCity and is planned for release in 2013.

Apart from the obvious graphic upgrades and funky new additions like flame belching robot dinosaur battles Maxis have also added in a big new feature called Social Flow.

We haven’t been given all the information yet but apparently Social Flow will impact how your city grows depending on the choice you make as well as the choices of others around you. Which leads me to believe there could well be a small multiplayer element to the game.

This is something I’ve always wanted and hopefully I’ll be able to link up my multiple cities with the cities of friends online and start trading with each other, they just better not allow other cities to overtly affect my city as that would just cause the trolls to infest the game.

Check the trailer above and screenshots below and let me know what (if anything) excites you about this game.
