Skate 2 Comparison – Someone give EA a pat on the back please

It’s true that console comparisons have gotten a little tired now but this one is different.

First of all, I need to mention that the first Skate on Playstation 3 was a worse experience on PS3. This is not my opinion, this is the opinion of a lot of PS3 users who were left feeling very upset with Skate’s terrible framerate ( an online petition was even started to try and get a patch released to improve the framerate) that hampered the experience considerably, especially when the Xbox 360 version was rolling along so smoothly.

This time around I am quite impressed to say the least. This is the first comparison video that I have seen where I can truly say that both of the games look absolutely identical. Not only that, but the PS3 version seems to be cruising along at a beautifully smooth framerate this time as well.

Well done EA, you are starting to impress me.

  1. I will agree that both look good BUT the 360 still looks etter to ME. Look at the guy with the green/greyish Kurt Cobain looking shirt. On the 360 version you can see the stripes on the shirt but not on the PS3 one. It’s early on in the video right before they enter Slappy’s park. Look I am happy that the PS3 3rd party titles are starting to look like they should but I can’t help but see that it’s only the 1st party titles of Sony that look great. Just my 2c.

probably because they still create the games on the 360 and port it to PS3. Isnt that always the case?

Actually my friend, it was the other way around with skate 2, It was developed on the ps3 and ported to he 360 because it was easier than doing it the other way, The xbox just looks better no matter what, Because it”s better!

am i the only one that experiences frame rate issues when playing on the ps3? it seems like most posts on here are to the contrary saying that nobody has problems with it but I am starting to wonder if i am going to take the game back it’s so bad… For example. I was doing the Danny Way challenge at mega compound and EVERY time i went to ollie or flip trick or anything onto one of the ramps it would skip and stall a few seconds only noticable but bugged me enough to not want to finish the challenge. and not only there it seems like the problems are most prevalent when there are other AI skaters around.. is anyone else having these problems?

sorry edit on “A FEW SECONDS” milliseconds would be more accurate because while my controls register it’s just hard to time them correctly even with the slightest framerate issue
