Sony hits back at Microsoft over Halo sales comment

Yesterday we heard about Aaron Greenburg shooting his mouth off about the ludicrously high number of Halo 3 sales compared to the top 3 exclusive IP’s on the PS3.

Well today it’s time for Sony to respond and up steps Sony Computer Entertainment’s UK boss, Ray Maguire, to answer back.

According to Ray

“Well I’m really happy with them because as I said, we’re selling more than we ever have done before. Secondly, I’m not too fussed about the competitive bits or people’s comments because at the end of the day, I’ve only got my focus, and that is giving consumers a great experience and great content and I don’t care what anybody else does.”

Sony are obviously taking the high ground on this one when it comes to sales but it’s not like Ray was going to let Microsoft get away without any sort of dig, when questioned about 3D gaming he comes out to say

“everyone will have to get into 3D because it’s the natural way of viewing the world. So why would you stay in a 2D world if you have the ability to do 3D?”

It seems that Sony are betting the farm on 3D and I for one am still sceptical about the technology but at the same time it is one of the most exciting aspects of E3 this year and I cannot wait to give it a go.

Killzone 2 in 3D is possibly my most anticipated game time.

I suppose people were skeptical about the whole HD thing and I hardly know anyone without it. I’m sure 3D (glasses-less) will be really popular – I’m just not ready for it.

Actually MS and Nintendo are also betting on 3D. MS announced their new partnership with LG a couple of months ago and said yesterday they will announce details about Xbox 3D very soon…Possibly something at E3 or maybe still too early i dunno. Im still betting on MS announcing a new console with HMI 1.3 or 1.4 for this at E3.

Nintendo are betting on 3DS so it looks like its definitely here to stay. It will be slow going though. Hopefully the TV’s will come down in price faster than it took HD TV’s or hopefully Sony will announce another option for us to be able to use our current HD TV’s and only need to purchase the glasses.

As for 3D movies apprently its rumoured the update for 3D movies on Blu Ray will be coming to PS3 in Septemeber.

I still don’t see this taking off,

I for one will never buy it, as I have a muscle problem in my one eye, so for me it is a no no.

And there should be a lot of people like me.
