Sony insists it isn’t dropping its price

I didn’t expect it but I was hoping it would happen, however it seems that Sony has once again dashed the hopes and dreams of millions of gamers around the world.

Or more precisely they have announced that they won’t be cutting the price of it’s black behemoth this holiday season.

Patrick Seybold, Director of Corporate Communications for Sony America has stated once again

“As previously discussed we aren’t making any price moves this holiday season”

That’s pretty definitive, he goes on to say

“”In my opinion, we have the best line up of any PlayStation generation going into this holiday and consumers will be very receptive to it.”

While he may have a point the problem is that his competition isn’t in the form of another PlayStation but rather in the form of two white boxes. The domineering Nintendo Wii and the newly price slashed Xbox 360.

Only time will tell if the two pointed attack of LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2 be enough to hold of Gears 2, Banjo and the huge price cost savings associated with them.

I have said it before and I will say it again, the Wii will once again take this holiday with the 360 far behind and the PS3 trailing still even further. The price of the 360 guarantees this in my humble opinion.

Although they keep saying it won’t happen, i think there will be a price drop. Sony are starting to fall behind too far now with the boost in sales of the XboX. I understand why they keep denying it, but i’m still fairly sure there will be a price cut soon.

    BAd move, IMHO.

The world economy is shocking and getting worse.

LBP is a nice project, but of 0 interest to me and Resistance 2 is now off my list, since they dropped split screen coop.

I really should just sell the damn thing all ready.

Now only Killzone 2 remains for me.

    Yip,

If it wasn’t for Blue Ray and God of War 3, I would have sold mine ages ago.

You know the smart thing to do would be to sell it 😉

The smart thing would be to just keep it. Except if you don’t care about loosing bout a R1000 or more from the original price (guys buying second hand always think they gotta get tnings for nothing) or if you could get someone that will pay a decent price.

Maybe there are some Sony execs that secretly want to the X360 to beat them!
