Sony removing ingame XMB comments on their Blog?

DUALSHOCK 3

I never quite know if doing something like this helps to confirm or deny anything… which I guess is the point.

Jeff Robinson was answering questions over at the official US PlayStation blog and when a forum member (skynidas) over at the N4G forums asked about the in-game XMB he found that his comments were quickly being deleted.

I’m going to assume this time that the comments are being deleted because Sony are not ready to make an announcement yet and don’t want to look like they are ignoring a members comments.. It’s a really hard situation to be in though and I do feel for them.

Lets hope we see that in-game XMB before MGS4 lands

i think having comments is leading to the assumption that it’s gonna hit before MGS4 lands.

    It’s not.

I think it’s more to avoid the press of “Ingame XMB delayed” when no date was announced in the first place.

The Internet has taken it as a fact that the new firmware is dropping this month, when Sony has said nothing. I suspect the truth is that there QA and testing Ninjas are busy with it, but they don’t want to announce anything until they’re sure it’s good to go.

They could still encounter plenty of problems with various games, depending on how far they are into testing it – if they are indeed testing it.

I just hope it comes soon, because then the PS3 will become my console of choice. Hell, I might even cancel my Live Gold subscription.

No date or announcements so they can avoid what happened with Metal Gear Solids Online play.
