Next-gen.biz has a little interview with Eric Lempel who is the director of PlayStation Network operations.
The first thing that smacks you in the face is the following quote
Microsoft had a year jump on us for the launch and essentially we’re offering a lot of the same stuff. I don’t think there’s a big difference in exactly what we’re offering when it comes down to the nuts and bolts of what’s actually there for the consumer
Man I would love to know what drugs they give Sony employees before letting them talk to the press… Sony has a great product on their hands with PSN and Home but to think they are equal to Live at the moment is insane.
Luckily the drugs wear off quite quickly and he mentions that they want to include
- Cross Game invites
- Cross Game Chatting
- Achievements
- Gamerscore
- Integrated Market Place
- Access to dashboard functionality ingame
And so on.. So yeah currently the two setups are quite equal….
