Over the weekend Sony has announced that it is going to be bringing it’s best and brightest PSP titles to the PS3 but instead of being a direct port they are going to send them back to the developers to get polished and tuned with full HD visuals, Dualshock 3 compatibility and some 3D support.
They may also throw in some PS3 exclusive material while they are at it.
What’s more is that Sony are promising cross platform compatibility so that when you are out and about you can play Capcom’s Monster Hunter on your PSP and then when you get home you can move over to your PS3 and continue from where you left off.
That’s the amazing benefit of having your own handheld and would make certain games a lot more appealing on the PS3 than the Xbox 360 or PC.
Right now the campaign is only being launched in Japan on Blu-Ray but we are expecting an international release and for the titles to be downloadable in the very near future.
Here is the trailer for the only announced title so far, Monster Hunter Portable HD
