Sony’s redesigning the PlayStation Store

I love the PlayStation store, I do. It’s got great content (that’s often missing from the local Xbox Marketplace) – but there’s no denying that it’s a bit of a chore to navigate. everything buried within layers of menus, and nearly every action is accompanied by a high-pitched digital shrill that makes me want to eat my own face off. For those reasons alone, I’m pretty excited that Sony will finally be updating the thing with a new redesign.

Soon after the announcement of the new, sleeker and cheaper PlayStation Super Slim, Australia’s PS Blog released the info – coupled with another interesting tidbit.

"To tie in with the launch, PlayStation Store for PS3 is set to get a new look from October 2012 too, making it even easier for you to find and download the content you love from the comfort of your sofa," says Australia’s Playstation blog.

That’d be nice. In addition to that, what I’d really like from the PS Store is the ability to sort lists of previously downloaded stuff; If you’ve ever lost your PS3 for whatever reason, and tried to download your old content, you’ll know what I mean. I’d also really, really, really like the ability purchase and queue downloads from my browser, as I’m able to do with Xbox Live.

What would you like to see from a renovated PlayStation Store?
