South Park: The Stick of Truth had plenty of cut content

South-Park-The-Stick-of-Truth

A battle with a thieving gnome taking place around a gigantic sack of testicles that swings perilously close to your face. Nazi zombies. ManBearPig. Princess Kenny. Man, South Park: The Stick of Truth was a horribly fantastic game. Even if it did involve a scene where Randy Marsh was horribly violated by an alien anal probe that used Simon Says technology.

And it was a fairly decent-sized game at that. A solid 10-15 hour romp, with enough room for a replay or two. Not bad. But South Park: The Stick of Truth, could have easily been even bigger, if series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone had had their way.

That’s according to Did You Know Gaming?’s latest video, which detailed the creation of South Park: The Stick of Truth. Not the deepest of videos this week, but plenty of interesting information nonetheless. Such as Stone and Parker having a script which numbered in the hundreds of pages, and had to be trimmed down considerably for the 50-man team to work on.

Originally, the game was going to feature a massive battle with the Vampire kids, filthy hippes and a quest to retrive Cartman’s beloved Polly Prissypants doll from an enclave of Ginger kids. There just wasn’t enough time time to include those elements in the finished game, with Obsidian suggesting that it be shelved and used instead as DLC. “Fuck that,” was Trey Parker’s response.

Other cut content included the festive turd Mr Hankey having an entire Christmas village, instead of a crappy cardbox home in the sewers and more Crab People. CRAB PEOPLE! CRAB PEOPLE! TASTE LIKE CRAB, WALK LIKE PEOPLE! CRAB PEOPLE! Eventually, South Park: The Stick of Truth was released in its current state, with an upcoming sequel announced at E3 this year, South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

Which I’m hoping has a scene that makes Randy Marsh’s original colonoscopy shudder.

I am a horrible person for finding this funny.

I played this for about 20 hours. The humour was great, but the gameplay got so repetitive, I just couldn’t carry on with it.

You know a game is brilliantly funny if you even laugh when being censored.

I remember not too long before E3 I said I would kill if they make another game where we can play as their super hero personas.

I came when I saw it on E3…

The game was legendary. Not much variety among the different classes on offer

The writing was brilliant. Had me dying the whole time. Wish they could have had a bit more, but I’m looking forward to Fractured But Whole.
