Spawn Kills: Black Ops player totals 501 kills in one round

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a great game. Its multiplayer, while quite a bit of fun, many would describe as fundamentally broken in certain game modes. Some of you out there who aren’t into online military shooters might not know just how broken modes like Demolition are. Here’s a clip to put things into perspective.

In the video that follows, a player manages to accumulate a kill count of 501 in a single match of Demolition on the Havana map. The player does this by spawn killing, which for those who don’t know, means killing opposing players as they spawn. Spawn kills are an exploit of fixed respawn locations. Once you’ve learnt where people are going to respawn, you just camp out and pop people in the head the moment they reappear. For the victims of spawn kills, there is nothing more infuriating. This clip is a prime example of just how exploitable fixed respawn locations are; at about 2:30 into the clip it just gets ridiculous.
