Think your PC has what it takes to do some covert assassinations to the tune of some night vision goggles lighting up? How the hell should I know, I’m not privy to this information dammit! What I do happen to know though, is that you’ll need a decent-sized rig in order to run Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Graphic card-breaking leaks after the jump.
According to the recommended PC requirements released by Ubisoft, you’ll need to be packing this much heat in order to run the game:
Minimum
- OS: Windows XP (SP3) / Windows Vista (SP2) / Windows 7 (SP1) / Windows 8
- Processor: 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 or 2.80 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ or better
- Memory: 2 GB RAM
- Graphics: 512 MB DirectX 10–compliant with Shader Model 4.0 or higher
- DirectX: 9
- Hard Drive: 25 GB HD space
- Sound: DirectX 10–compliant DirectX 9.0c–compliant
- Additional Peripherals Supported: Windows-compatible keyboard, mouse, headset, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)
Recommended
- Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 or 3.00 GHz AMD Phenom II X4 940 or better
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- DirectX: 11
- Hard Drive: 25 GB HD space
- Sound: 5.1 surround sound
- Other Requirements: Broadband Internet connection
- Additional Peripherals Supported: Windows-compatible keyboard, mouse, headset, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)
I honestly have no idea if those requirements are strenuous for modern day PCs, but I’m confident that my Voodoo 3000 3D Accelerator card should be able to handle this game on my brand new Pentium 400 MHZ PC.
As for console gamers, they’ll need the following in order to play the game:
- A Playstation 3 for the PS3 version of the game
- A Xbox 360 for the Xbox 360 version of the game
- A smug attitude
Splinter Cell Blacklist is out August 23.

I have a 7 year old PC at home that can run above recommended. Dynamic fish seems to be light on resources.
And Darryn for somebody who writes about GAMES you might need to brush up on your Tech lingo.

Yeah, but Ubertangs 7 year old PC was probably some military grade prototype that would probably knock the current mid-range PC to pieces, probably running on lazers, Yup, it’s always the lazers…

My PC will do just fine, but I suspect I’ll have to make use of the “turbo” button on the box though..
