Square Enix hiring for Final Fantasy XV

FFXV 1

As excellent as the game libraries on new generation consoles are becoming, there is still a serious lack of JRPGs. Final Fantasy XV is a while away, but it has to be one of the most anticipated games for JRPG fans, and here’s some news that will make you even happier.

Square Enix has updated the career opportunity ads (Thanks DualShockers) for its second division, the area responsible for the development of Final Fantasy XV. The game’s director, Hajime Tabata, explains the division’s goals:

We are the core of the development of the latest chapter of the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy XV. For our highest rated series we’re aiming for the highest revenue. ours is a department at the forefront of technological development. With industry-leading engineering and fine art skills, we put together talent and planning to challenge production.

He goes on to say that while there aren’t many opportunities in Japan to work on AAA games that can challenge what’s seen globally, those who apply for this team will be able to work on the new chapter of Final Fantasy, or maybe even a new IP that could become a new pillar of Square Enix. The division is looking for people in the following roles.

  • Lead Planner
  • Planner
  • Senior Character Designer
  • Lighting Designer
  • Game Programmer
  • Game Engine Programmer
  • System Programmer
  • CG Programmer
  • Technical Director
  • 2x Project Manager
  • 2x Producer
  • Management Coordinator
  • 3D CGI Modeler

Finally, most of the ads related to FFXV explicitly say that the company is entering the full production stretch towards the completion of the game. While the final product is still a long way away, at least all this hiring proves that Squeenix is going to push the game towards completion.

I know each Final Fantasy game seems to take ages to release. However, with this much staff, we should see the game getting closer and closer to a final release date. We will get our hands on the demo next year – let’s just hope it isn’t long after that when we’ll be able to mark our calendars with the game’s launch date.

Bleh so not hyped for this. *goes to wath Xenoblade Chronicles X again*

And as for Square Hiring more people, they made better games when their teams were smaller. FFXIII had over 300 people and look how well that turned out for most people.

All this does is make me worry that stuff will go wrong.

Hahaha, eh I am just hating on XV. I’ll be honest =p there is just something about this that I can’t get hype for.

It will probably be a butt ton of fun for fans in the end and be a good game.

      >FFXIII had over 300 people and look how well that turned out for most people.

YOu mean that is got an 83 by critics, 76% by fans, 6.2 million copies sold, was able to get direct sequels because of a global demand for the product and the development team willing to work on it, and Lightning being voted highly by fans as one of the best female FF characters.

…oh you mean that fanboy opinion of “Wah! FF13 sux! I didn’t like it so therefore EVERYBODY didn’t like it and my opinion does not matter!”

Im busy playing Final Fantasy 9 on the Vita.

WOW, what a totally different take. I can see why Hironobu Sakaguchi said that 9 was his best creation.

ITS FANTASY fantasy. As for the haunting music that NEVER gets old even if it was created on computer synth.
    bring back FANTASY.

My favorite entry. So much life and wonder in that game, not to mention the amazing music!…I miss those days. I’m really praying and hoping this game brings back some of that soul…Maybe I’m hoping for too much, but hey, its all I have left at this point in time.

The older entries sure did have some deep undertones. Vivis story of mortality is amazing, never mind the Buddhist Gia life stream undertones of 7.

The modern generation limited the freedom of Narrative that they had thanks to limited space for the voice Audio and 3D level design. Those old school static backgrounds will never age.

Its in the PS ONE store. No more disc swapping 🙂 and you can stretch the screen to whatever size you want. Also get to hear it with stereo headphones.

Just hold down the PS Button to bring up the options window. That is where you go when it asks you to swap disks.

My wife and I have played the discworld board games. as games, it is sort of fun, but there are way more fun board games out there (settlers of Catan, for example), but for fans and people that know the mythos, the board games is just awesome. And our last game, last turn. I play and inwardly smile. I will win (you at start of turn) and there is nothing they can do to stop me. My friend plays and thinks, I will win, there is nothing they can do to stop me. My wife’s turn comes up and she says, ok thanks for the game and wins. That close, was a lot of fun.
