Star Wars: Battlefront isn’t built around DLC, says DICE

DICE’s new Battlefront looks pretty damned good, even if it is based on that hackneyed Star Wars nonsense. While many fans’ brains are set to explode with excitement, a great many others are doing their best to contain their enthusiasm. Why? Because they’re certain that EA – being EA – are going to nickel-and-dime them with this game’s inevitable DLC. They’re worried that EA and DICE will hold content back, only to sell it to them later as DLC. EA wants to assure you that that’s not the case.

While there is obviously DLC coming to the game, EA says that they’re not building the game around extra content.

“The amount of content in the game has absolutely zero to do with DLC. I can say that with all honesty,” said producer Jesper Nielsen on Reddit.

“…if you think there’s anything we’re not including in the game to save it for DLC, I can tell you you’re 100% wrong. In this project, I’ve never heard anyone say ‘Let’s not do this for launch so we can do it as DLC instead’. Ever.”

He’s also re-iterated previous claims that (unlike Hardline!) this isn’t just a reskin of Battlefield 4.

“Oh, trust me, this is not a Battlefield re-skin. It’s using the Frostbite engine, yes, but not a lot of the Battlefield code. Day 1 was not “hey, let’s copy BF4 and work from that”. It was more like “hey, let’s make a new Frostbite game”.

As for the four planets; a loooot of work has gone into making those four planets look and feel absolutely amazing. We’re setting some high bars here on what we want to achieve. You may disagree with that priority, but it’s really a quality vs quantity question.”

With just four planets, many believe the game will have a limited number of maps – with “8” being the figure commonly bandied about.

“I cannot stress this enough; there will be more than 8 maps!” Nielsen asserts.

They’ll just probably only be available as DLC.

Still, EA will give us the bare bones of the game and add all the meaty bits later, Battlefront is a fat cow with overly full udders and EA is gonna milk the poor beast till it sucks out every little bit. They are the number one reason why Ive turned into a sour cynical old prick when it comes to AAA gaming.

5 mins later modders find all the hidden gfx configs
“Oh those never worked that is why we hid them” – Ubisoft
5 mins later modders make it work by “Turning it on”
“Modding our files is illegal”- Ubisoft

At least EA lies about DLC and not about taking money from Sony to make the game look worse on PC.

Well let us be honest. This is sorta the second time they actually said it. The first time was the new sims and that was just horrible (I hear). Many people are referencing Battlefield when they say they don’t believe them but they never ever said “Battlefield is not going to be about the DLC” So technically they have no lied yet (except for sims ofc). In fact with Battlefield they extensively plugged their paid for non-pre-order DLC even before game release.

Ea and dice you can jump down in a giant sand worm mouth while Jabba the Hut just sit there and laughing at you for not knowing anything about Star Wars battefront y’all would not be getting my money or any of the hardcore starwars fans this is not a 60$ game its wroth 30$ at best this is not a starwars battlefront game it’s basically Star Wars battlefield with Star Wars skin star wars battlefront 1 and 2 an the battlefront on the PSP is batter then this so called starwars game let’s do a sign comparison shall we in Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 there was campaign there was galactic conquest there WAS SPACE BATTLE there were Empire mode there were CLON WARS and on the PSP there were the same Mode except with some tweets into the game I believe that game was called Star Wars Battlefront Elite squadron that game was awesome even though they took out the heroes in the game which was stupid but anyway back to that game on elite squadron you can be in the battle on the planet and then youk fine a starship and you fly out onf the atmosphere off that planet and you automatically be in another battle in space if they had kept heroes and villains in starwars battlefront elite squadron that would easily be the best Star Wars Battlefront of all time I freaking love that game an now here Star Wars battlefront you know what I’m not going to call a better front I’m going to call it Star Wars battlefield in Star Wars battlefield there no long story campaign there’s no galactic conquest no Empire mode no SPACE BATTLE!! its just focus on multiplayer only no land to space battle even though y’all could have did that easily and don’t get me started on that lame excuse that dice had said oh the reason why there’s no space battles is because One and keep people on the same planet we don’t want them to go off the planet that is the most dumbest excuse I ever heard YOU CAN HAVE A STAR WAR GAME WITHOUT SPACE BATTLE with everybody on the same planet I feel like I’m playing another Battlefield game an you only have four planet when on the old battlefront 1 and 2 an elite squadron have way more planets to travel to and use inspect people to pay full price for A game that’s not even worth full price y’all lost your freaking mind if I was y’all boss y’all would be fire only people that will be dumb enough to support this sorry excuse of a Star Wars game will be your battlefield fanboys your obviously listening to them an not to yhe starwars fans you will never beat call of duty ea so stop trying anyway I play the bata it does not lives up to the Star Wars battlefront fulfillment ea dice you have failed starwars battlefront y’all can go an screw yourself am not getting it this game y’all drop the bomb on this crap
