After a gruelling weekend of StarCraft 2 carnage, Leesak ‘PartinG’ won the Battle.net World Championship (BWC) by beating fellow Korean Hyunwoo ‘Creator’ Jang.

Korea dominated the BWC this weekend, with seven of their best taking on some of the finest players the world has to offer. At the end it was an all Korean final settling an old score making StarCraft 2 history. PartinG and Creator faced off earlier this year at the WCS South Korea Nationals where Creator had a 2:1 victory over PartinG, sending him home with a third place only.

In yesterday’s final PartinG had a spectacular micro with Creator giving him a blink Stalker vs. Blink Stalker challenge for quite some time. PartinG showed off the great effectiveness of a flawless Warp Prism management, and used probes to knock off Creator’s Immortal shields. After four games, the score was even at 2:2, with Creator demanding a GG from PartinG on Shakuras Plateau casters deemed it “any one’s match”. PartinG once again brought amazing micro to the fifth game, poised to win in the sixth.

Creator responded to PartinG’s three-Gate Stalker push with Immortals, setting the pace for the game. PartinG kept the aggression advantage until Blink was available demonstrating just how effective Blink Stalkers can be. Creator gave it a good go before succumbing to a superior army for which he had no answer. PartinG took the 4:2 victory and the $100, 000 first prize.
