StarCraft Ghost? Yeah, it’s not happening…

Blizzard’s pretty close to completing the first StarCraft II expansion, the Heart of the Swarm. they’re also pretty close to finishing Diablo III – so it’s entirely possible that they’ve a little free time to port it to consoles, or possibly even work on something else – like maybe StarCraft Ghost, the 3rd person, stealth action title they announced for consoles back in 2002, the game’s become the classic example of vapourware. could Blizzard be bringing Ghost back from the dead?

I wouldn’t hold my breath.

“There are no plans. I’m not saying we won’t ever, but I’ll tell you what I do know: There are no meetings going on. There is no team. No one talks about doing it,” StarCraft II lead designer Dustin Browder said to Kotaku. “It doesn’t mean that in two years from now, we won’t have those meetings, the team won’t be formed, but there is literally nothing happening around that game right now that would indicate that there’s any likelihood that it will happen.

“It’s just as likely we’ll do that again as Lost Vikings 3 or whatever. There’s just no guarantees one way or the other, but nothing is happening.”

Once an eminent console game developer, Blizzard struck gold on the PC and has since 1997,  stuck to just 3 franchises; Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo. On the subject of Blizzard games, aside from the aforementioned Lost Vikings (which I’d love to be resurrected) I’d pay good money  – as would many of you – for a new Blackthorne. SHOTGUN TO THE FACE!
