Take-Two Delays Both Read Dead Redemption and Mafia II Again

Take-Two have once again delayed two rather large releases that were set for release in the first quarter of 2010. They were both originally set to release in 2009 but were pushed to the first quarter of 2010

In their financial call for the first quarter of fiscal 2010, they announced that Mafia II would be delayed a second time, as it was already delayed last year for reasons surrounding the requirement of extra development time.

Pretty much the same story goes for Red Dead Redemption as well, but with our own hands-on previews of Red Dead Redemption, we really didn’t see it needing to be delayed any longer.

This begs the question as to whether the new delays have taken place for even more development, or if Take-Two rather took a business decision to release them in a different window.

Take-Two’s fourth quarter runs between August 1st and October 31st, so we can only expect to get our hands on these titles in quite a while.

Nothing to worry about. It will likely not get released in our life times.

Thankfully I caught wind of the Red Dead Redemption hype late, so in terms of waiting – I haven’t been.
With regard to Mafia 2, well, waiting has become the expectation with this title already, hasn’t it?

Oh well, let’s hope they do pull this off without to much a backlash, at the end of the day, as long as we get games that live up to their expectations, we’ll be happy.
    I know I will be.
