Take-Two teases brand new IP for the next gen

Take2

The Take-Two earnings call was yesterday and the CEO, Strauss Zelnick, was in high spirits and for good reason too. In the last year they have released Borderlands 2, XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Bioshock: Infinite to critical and commercial success.

And things are apparently looking even better for this year with the much anticipated Grand Theft Auto V expected to steamroll the sales figures and some brand new IP’s that are being prepped for the next generation of consoles.

We also have an extraordinary pipeline of titles in development for next-generation platforms, including groundbreaking new intellectual property and releases from our proven franchises,

One of the new IP’s I’m expecting to see is the previously spoken about Agent, which was revealed as a PS3 exclusive back in 2009.

Since then it’s disappeared from the front lines and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if this has now turned into a PlayStation 4 exclusive that we’ll hear about at E3 this year.

Take Two appear to be going from strength to strength and now have three excellent development studios as part of their stable, ignoring the last abortion that Gearbox threw up. They are now nearly twice the size of Ubisoft and have been on an upward trajectory for the last year.

With all the doom and gloom in the industry it’s nice to see at least some of the guys are doing well still.

Nice. Good to hear this and from a company that puts out great (95% anyway) games.

    Awesome!

I don’t like this word “exclusive” one bit. In any form. Be it games, society, anything

Not to nitpick, but GTA did NOT start on Playstation. Agent sounds a little like Alpha Protocol, which I enjoyed.

One thing I agree with is must have value that’s mentioned in this video. That’s what most of their games are: must have.
