RollerCoaster Tycoon World

When I played RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 back in the day (I missed 3 for some reason), I built some of the wildest rides the world had ever seen. Sure, they often resulted in the death of my park goers (the word oops is in loops for a reason you know), but guess what? I didn’t care about their fun – I cared about mine! Creativity was key to it all, and RollerCoaster Tycoon encouraged players to put together some truly stellar parks and rides.

There were some limitations however. I could only build from whatever limited selection of building material was on offer. Being young and naive, I knew nothing about modding (and barely had the Internet to dabble with it even if I did), so I made do with the tools and content the designers gave me. What I wouldn’t give back then to have the means to put together a cabbage-themed park!

Thankfully, the upcoming RollerCoaster Tycoon World has the means to make my dream a reality. The developers are making it super easy to throw in custom goodies into the game.

How easy you ask? Well, it can be done in just five steps (via VG247):

With the upcoming release of RollerCoaster Tycoon World, that all changes. We designed the game from the ground up to support your creativity, with native UGC as the centerpiece of this new game. It’s the only way to truly allow unlimited freedom and customization. We believe this is one of the most exciting developments in the history of the franchise. It was a core architecture decision early on in development, and one we’re extremely excited about.

Easy peasy – assuming you can get through the first step, which is just a casual “create your 3d model”. Oh is that all? SO SIMPLE!

Thankfully, I do not need to know how to do that personally. By the power of the Steam Workshop, I can wait for other people to model their own goodies, and then grab it to throw into my game – all without even having to close it. Now if I could just find somebody to create me some cabbage themed stuff…
