It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about our Battlefield 3 Protea team competing in the Nations Cup, but it hasn’t been because they’ve dropped out. This dedicated team has won their match against Bulgaria, and now ranks in the top four of their group.

The games are played as fairly as possible, with a match on each country’s server. This means that no team has a complete latency advantage throughout the match. The odds were almost even that either team could win, but South Africa quickly proved that they were determined to win. Game 1 was played on map Noshar Canals on the Bulgarian server and even though on this server, we had the latency disadvantage, we took the game 383 tickets to 0. The scores were RSA 147 – BUL 0 and RSA 236 – BUL 0. The most notable player on the map being Bravado Gaming’s Dean Seyfried aka [RSA]HackM4bb.

The second game was played on map Grand Bazaar on a South African server where Team S.A had a phenomenal game, most of the team completely obliterating their opponents. Team S.A won with a score of 465 to 0. The score break down being: RSA 245 – BUL 0 and RSA 220 – BUL 0.

The victory has ensured that South Africa is now placed third in their group, Group C with three wins and only one loss, which was against Russia, the current leaders of the group. Even if the team loses their next match against Germany, which will take place tomorrow night at 20:00 CET (21:00 local time), they will make it through to the quarter finals. Team Captain, Barry Louzada expects the game to be a tough one, since Germany is currently the ESL champs, but assures that his team will give their absolute best.
