Another highlight from Ubisoft’s conference, for me at least, was the announcement of another game from one of my favourite game designers, Tetsuya Mizuguchi. He’s the very strange individual who brought us Space Channel 5, Lumines, Every Extend Extra and Rez.

This latest game, Child of Eden looks to continue with the pulsing beats and strange shooter mechanics of Rez, with a little fl0w and flower – with some mechanics from Pixeljunk Eden added for good measure. It’s a Kinect and Move compatible title and  – with Mizuguchi’s pedigree at making music based games that seem strange and alien, but are ridiculously compelling once you’ve grasped the basics – I expect great things.
