SNES

Do you remember the Super Nintendo Entertainment System? I don’t. My parents never regarded games with enough respect to throw down some cash for their kids’ well-being. We had to be content with kicking balls and grabbing time on friends’ machines. Ironically my parents were REALLY not fond of games arcades, which is where I ended up spending a lot of time. There were games there! If only they splashed out on a SNES, then I never would have had to get used to the smell of stale cigarettes and learned to play pool. It is almost certain that I spent more time on Mortal Kombat during my Grade 8 year than anything connected to school.

Fortunately my parents didn’t see the harm in getting a PC, though. Thanks to its most impressive feature, piracy, I finally got to see a lot of games. But not these. Never had a SNES. I don’t think I ever even played on one as a kid. Now the Megadrive – that rings a bell.

Enough banter. What we have here is Screw Attack’s Top 20 games for the SNES. You should at least have heard of most of them, though the real reason why you should watch this is the presentation. The ghost of Cybernet carries on…

  1. @Lazy- Cybernet has in the television show?

The best I had as a kid was a Golden China and that kept me busy until my parents bought a PC.

Yeah, the British show with Lucy Longhurst as the voice we heard (for the first few seasons). A lot of the Gametrailer produced stuff is very reminiscent of what that show did.

My parents were of the same mind regarding “tv games machines”, so I played most of my SNES games (FF 1 – 6, Chrono Trigger) on SNES emulators on the PC 🙂
