The Division also coming to PC?

We know that The Division looks amazing, it even got our “Best New IP” award.  When it was originally announced, it was only going to come to next-gen consoles (and tablet, sort of).  But now, it seems that PC gamers might also get to play.

When The Division was announced and looked beautiful, PC gamers took to the internet to demand access, too.  In fact, the petition is still running, if you care to go sign and demand your right to play this game on something other than PS4 or Xbox One.

In an interview with IGN, an Ubisoft rep said

We’re not ruling out other platforms because we do also read the internet.

Good to know, Ubisoft.  Also, the spokesperson said that Ubisoft always wants to maximize the potential of a game – if there is enough demand from PC gamers, it will prove to be worthwhile.  Remember, this was their same argument about why NOT to release games on the Wii U, just not enough demand.  So, let’s see how this shapes up.  At least it’s nice to see that some developers are still aware of PC gamers, even when all the buzz is about next-gen consoles.

The game is set for release in Winter (Northern Hemisphere) 2014, so about another year and a half to go.  Plenty of time for gamers on all platforms to make themselves heard.

Ok, ok….fair enough. I actually would not mind a keyboard and mouse for console gaming. At least there be some descent strategy games then.

I think sony tried that on the playstation 1 specifically to tap in the booming rts market at the time but it didn;’t take (probably cost twice as much as a controller).

Fine. Then only mice with very low DPI settings are allowed. Or those one. With a ball in it.

While I will be completely stoked if this came to PC (Looks like an awesome game) I would never support a petition. I don’t want to be associated with all the 12 year old children who feel oh so hard done by before a game didn’t come out on their platform of choice.

Not for a second do I want to be associated with them. If the game doesn’t come to pc, then I will simply move on from it and either, make a plan and play on console, or just not play it. Jumping up and down because something doesn’t go your way is a waste of time and energy.

If ”Jumping up and down because something doesn’t go your way is a waste of time and energy” then we would still have the proposed DRM on the Xboxone…

But this isn’t the Xbox One. This is ONE game. Just one. Xbox One is a new generation of console that will be here for 10 years. Getting MS to change their DRM policy is worth the fuss for both parties (public & MS) Ubisoft porting a game to PC prob isn’t worth thier time. But now because a few people disagree, Ubisoft felt pressured to change their mind to save face. If Ubisoft feel they can pull it off, or they were always planning on it then good for them, I withdraw my comment.
In the end, I’m just simply stating that I do not like the fact that the gaming community have become a bunch of “I wants” vs “I needs” Nothing more, nothing left.
