Massive Entertainment’s open world MMO shooter The Division raised a great many eyebrows when it was revealed by Ubisoft – because it looks frankly incredible. Many have come to distrust anything Ubisoft shows off though, especially since the great big Watch Dogs “downgrade” debacle. Massive really wants you to know that they won’t be downgrading anything. In fact, they want to play to each system’s strengths.
The PC version, especially, won’t be “downgraded” to make the console versions look better, says Massive’s Martin Hulberg.
“Downgrading is a weird term to use. Obviously, we want to make a game that looks the best it can on its respective format, so Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC,” he said in an interview with Open World Games as transcribed by Gamespot. “So I think the term downgrade is a bit confusing and weird because we’re trying to get the most out of every machine we use. So Xbox gets its attention, PlayStation gets its attention, and PC of course will be able to cram it up a bit more depending on the hardware you have.”
Resolution and frame rate will be determined on a platform basis – and not some sort of parity.
“We address every console, every platform as its own version, so we try to stay away from the thing where you go for the least common denominator and everybody suffers for it,” he said. “We want to make a good experience on all respective formats.”

Forgetting Ubisoft’s past transgressions and the online nature of The Division for a moment – I have to say I’m very keen on The Division. From what I’ve seen, it’s a proper, hardcore tactical RPG, that can be played alone if you hate other people on the internet ruining your games as much as I do.

Its not about sales MS and Sony promised 1080p next gen gaming at 60fps. They are doing this to fool the console scrubs in thinking that its the same power as a pc.
Its as simple as that.
