BioWare has released the first screenshot for Dragon Age: Inquisition, the role-playing-game that will run on the Frostbite 3 engine. The scene depicts something resembling the planning out of an attack. It has a woman in it, and you can only see her from behind. That’s sexist!

If you feel as if you’ve seen it before, you probably have. The exact scene is also seen in the E3 trailer, which you can drool over below:

The game had recently undergone a name change, as EA didn’t want gamers to think the game was a “follow-on” to the previous games in the series. Speaking to IGN, Frank Gibeau, EA Labels President explained the decision.

“I think there’s always this debate over numbers versus no numbers, what works, what doesn’t work,” Gibeau told IGN. “We felt like we wanted to bring more attention to the word Inquisition, because that’s more the story arc of what it’s like. There’s a whole bunch of gameplay and features and big story choices related to how you go through this Inquisition that happens in the world.”

“It’s a tactical marketing decision,” Gibeau continued. “There wasn’t anything that strategic about it, to be blunt. We just wanted to draw more attention to the fact that Inquisition is an all-new chapter inside of the Dragon Age universe, as opposed to people expecting a follow-on to Dragon Age 1 and 2 in a literal, linear sense.”

Dragon Age Inquisition

Dragon Age: Inquisition’s release has been delayed a year, and will now release in 2014 for PC, current-gen and next-gen consoles.

I believe it, they have always listened to the fans. Even if it wasnt straight away. I think this will be good. IT HAS TO BE.
If not, the future of my Beloved Mass Effect is threatened -_-

I really hope so since DA1 is still one of my favorite games. But I will wait until LG reviews it and Mr Banana’s inevitable rant or praise of it before I buy:)

If you see the artwork for this game, it looks like its going to be more like Origins. YAY! No more single cave action!

Yeah and then watching your “partner” go ape-shit and destroy all you worked for in the game? Just destroyed the game, right there. Thanks

Maybe this time you will get a cave inside a cave, just to spice it up a bit.

I’m sure they wouldn’t stuff this one up as bad as DA2. From what I’ve read it seems that they’re going more open world with this one so lets hope it’s as good as they promise.

They said “as opposed to people expecting a follow-on to Dragon Age 1 and 2 in a literal, linear sense.” He’s obviously referring the Dragon Age 2 then right?

If you think about it, they are 3 different games, just with a few connections here and there.
Orgins was a “Avert the Apocolypse” game
      DA2 was a biography
      DA3 is about a war

It’ll be a victory so long as this one has more than 5 maps. So many good critics lost credibility on 2, I remember reading how great it was, and then seeing articles, from the same site, criticising DA2.
