UE4

We’ve seen a glimpse of next-gen this year with Ubisoft’s Watch dogs – which has now been confirmed for PC, Xbox 360 and PC. Star Wars 1313 also looks like a generational jump – but that’s running on Unreal Engine 3.

Epic’s now demonstrated its next generation Unreal Engine 4, joining Square’s Luminous engine as bona-fide next-gen showcases.

They’ve partnered with Gametrailers to show the engine’s capabilities (in real time!), as well as a glimpse at what actual games might look like. According to those in the know, it’s all running on a single-card PC right now.

Here’s an environmental demo (from which those screenshots shown in May come), followed by a developer walkthrough for those for those of you who want more technical details. Let us know what you think.
