The good, the bad and the ugly of the last week

Guess who’s back, back again? This feature is back, tell a friend! Guess who’s back guess who’s back guess who’s back danananana! I’ve created a monster, ‘cause no one wants to see Batman no more they want chopped pin-up! Well if you want Batman then this is what I’ll give ya! A liitle bit of me mixed with some hard liquor! Because we need a little…controversy, ’cause it feels so empty without us!

Best story

Offline, glorious offline play! Not everyone is into social interaction, and sometimes, I just want you all to go away. With Diablo 3 releasing on various Playstations, it looks like Satan-slaying will become an optional lone wolf experience. Y’know, the way it was meant to be played.

Worst story

I think it’s safe to say that ringing out as many extra coins from customers is a business model that isn’t exactly popular. EA plans to do that with all their games in the future, and it looks like Activision will be joining them in holding consumers upside down in order to shake all that extra lunch time coin out of their pockets.

Bah, I’m going indie.

Best ION header

Vikki-Blows

Vikki Blows. Not just a name that is begging for attention and puns, but also a pretty face. The funny thing is, you should have seen the other image that I almost ran with, for the ION that ay.

Most comments

Geoff wins this week, thanks to a tale of Microsoft getting cosy with EA. Cosy enough for an alleged exclusive deal, it seems. Ignore the red light flashing from the cupboard opposite your bed Microsoft.

Least comments

Looks like Yolanda gets least comments today, about her Secsy article. In other news, the sky is blue, water is healthy, our government is corrupt, cops are jerkasses and we’re all going to perish in five billion years when the Andromeda galaxy collides with the Milky Way.

GT6

Even though close to no one cared about it, it looks like a Gran Turismo 6 is on the way. Except knowing the development schedule behind creating such a game, we’ll all be old and wrinkly by the time that happens. Hence this appropriate image from Geoff:

Batman of the week

Due to the fact that Gavin disabled that Batman plug-in that tracks our individual performances on the site, there is no Batman this week. Or possibly ever again. Which means that it’s up to myself, Geoff and Yolanda to carry on that proud tradition by stabbing one another in the back and taking the post of last ever Batman for the bloody victor.

I win! I win! Ha!

Comment of the week

Something a bit different this week, as I’m giving the majority of the comments in Gavin’s article about growing the SA gaming community the nod of approval this week. It’s an issue that is hobbling our growth, as gamers just aren’t that keen on escaping into direct sunlight to mingle with their console and PC comrades.

But reading through the dozens of comments made there, are some valid and logical points. So yeah, most of you are now receiving the no-prize for comment for the week if you took part in that discussion. No refunds!
