The Halo matchmaking patch is in final stages of testing

It’s been over 100 days since Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One was released. 100 days. And for many – especially those not in close proximity to the game’s fabled cloud servers – it’s been a matchmaking mess. Patch after patch after patch, and the game’s multiplayer is still largely unplayable for many. The new patch – which was meant to have a public beta (a public beta for a patch? Inconceivable!), but the idea was scrapped and the patch delayed. It’s now nearly, nearly ready for release.

Speaking on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries said the patch is in the last stages of testing. The update will make improvements to the broken matchmaking and the broken party and invite systems – along with adding stability.

“While we haven’t yet locked an exact release date of this CU,” 343 says, “the work is in its final stages of testing and bug squashing is well underway. The next time we communicate regarding the status of the upcoming CU, we will provide a definitive timeframe for its availability

“As we announced previously, this content update includes fundamental changes to the aforementioned systems, and making and validating these changes requires substantial time beyond what was required for prior updates.”

“We’re happy with the progress on the next CU, with significant progress being made on big and small issues, and we’re being diligent in gameplay and stress testing to ensure that it is a meaningful update.”

Frankly, I think it’s a bit ridiculous that Halo – The Xbox brand’s flagship product – is still in such a state more than 3 months after it was released. It’s especially egregious in that Halo is a multiplayer-centric game, and these issues shouldn’t have been present in the first place. The new patch is in the final stages of testing? It seems that the entire game is.

How? how is this OK? How can companies be allowed to do this? Then we get called entitled whiners?

You know what the real issue is here? Publishers and devs don’t hold EACHOTHER accountable. Each dev/publisher goes “Oh but we are not them! You shouldn’t be angry at our small mistakes!” Instead they should be forcing eachother to all live up to a certain standard of product in regards to quality.

Why are they not hitting out at eachother? Why aren’t they competing to be better than the previous dev/publisher who stuffed up?

This industry is greedy and self centered. GAH!!!

So angry on a Friday… I need beer

It’s not okay, but there’s nothing we can do. It’s funny though. They will sue Sony over resolutions issues but not MS because of a broken game. Obvious bias is obvious.

        That’s another thing. Fanboyism.

Fanbois are willing to look past absolutely ANYTHING if it’s their favourite studio or whatever and it’s so wrong. Blindly following any human made company or even a person is very dangerous and not at all too smart. Yet people do it. I just don’t understand it

BF4 still gets shit for having issues at launch, even though most of it was resolved within a few weeks. MCC is broken for over 100 days and no one gives a shit.

I would buy it, but only because I don’t bother with the MP. Though plenty bought it just for that.

BF still seems to be the best online experience for myself but COD and Halo is a mess. Don’t get me wrong, the Halo: MCC is still a great buy value for money wise and I’ll buy it again in a heartbeat! But obviously EA has the secret sauce when it comes to multiplayer matchmaking, they need to share…..????

Maybe it’s easier if you have a few million playing instead of tens of thousands.

But what if poor Jannie now also gets KZ Shadowfall for Christmas because his grandma really hates him, will he never find anyone to play with?
