We’re in the tail-end of the year right now. E3 is but a distant memory, while Gamescom has come and gone without revealing anything that was exactly new. What’s left for this year, are games that we’re all well aware of. And that means that several games which are stuck in development hell, won;t be escaping anytime soon. Here’s four such games which will make you rage and not go quietly into the comments section.

So what’s your favourite bit of Vapoware? The fabled Ferrari challenge game from the early 2000s? Prey 2? Half-Life 3? A decent current-gen Final Fantasy? Dream on guys, dream on…

    Star Citizen?

Scope creep and so forth seem to have expanded this game to a level I believe will be tricky to finish

Starcraft: Ghost I might have still cared about ten years ago, it is a shame that never happened. The rest of these are pretty meaningless to me.

I will never give up hope for TLG…it will come.
As for FF7…I am a huge FF fan but seriously, people need to let this go..6, 8 and 9 are so much better than 7

Final Fantasy 7 HD was never confirmed to ever be in development so it shouldn’t really have been featured. But I like watching anything related to that franchise so all good. They just need to re-release FF7, 8 and 9 in better resolution with added content like they did with most of the earlier titles which received huge makeovers for the handheld consoles. Any of those made for the PS Vita would be a win-win.

I wonder if FF7 would ever have been regarded as one of the series’ best were it not for a certain, highly emotional scene. I enjoyed all the future installments up to FFX way more.

But I mean…a similiar scen happened in 5 too. Maybe it was the combination of music and animation that really made it stand out

Oh for sure. The movies included in FF games took the story telling to a whole new level and Aerith’s theme that played in the scene is one of the most beautiful, heartfelt pieces of game soundtrack I’ve ever heard.

But I mean I got an equally strong emotional reaction in FF8 when Squall and Rinoa were in the airship in space with Eyes On Me playing and hearing a voice in a FF game for the 1st time. Or in FF9 where cities and villages were destroyed by the Eidolons and Garnet was helpless to do anything. So other FFs had just as strong moments. I think for most it was because FF7 was the 1st exposure to that type of storytelling in an RPG. Whereas I played FF8 first so it will always be my favorite. Doesn’t make it the best of the series.

    well who knows,
Duke Nukem Forever used to be to go-to choice of “development hell/never gonna appear” games (currently it is more Last Guardian or Half-life 3)

But DNF eventually showed up! although most would agree it would have been better off if it didn’t as it came out of Dev Hell in a form more like spaceship from Event Horizon…

How about an old fashioned list?
Everything article on this bloody site is all in video these days, not everyone can just watch a video for multiple reasons.
Just mention the contents of the video in a short paragraph or list, not hard.
I dont want to find another gaming site to get my news from but if this constant video only article bullshit carries on I will.

Yeah was wondering if Ghost was going to show up, but if you look at how long Titan is already taking Ghost is definitely never going to happen!
