Pokemon-Ruby-Sapphire

I’m pretty much too excited to be spending way too much time in Pokémon yet again. My favouritest generation, re-imagined for the Nintendo 3DS. You’ve heard me mention this before, no doubt. Well tough sh*t, because today will be no different and I will tie you down and make you listen to my love for digital pocket monsters. While the core gameplay has remained the same, the visuals of Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby are something else entirely. See for yourself after the jump.

Say what you like about the remakes, but it’s hard to deny that graphically, the series has come a long way. This is especially evident in the smaller details, and just by playing the demo I can see even more improvements that have built on the work of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. See for yourself:

I haven’t yet figured out how to make both videos play at the same time, but this link certainly has. Thanks NeoGAF. In fact, here are two more comparison videos, with links here and here for you. Don’t say that I don’t do anything nice for you:

But here’s the thing, that I dig the most. It’s not just the video that’s an improvement. It’s the audio as well. Pokémon games have always had some catchy tunes, and the updated tracks on the remakes are just perfect. Music to my ears and all that. It’s a very subtle part of the gameplay, but one that has always captured my attention. Dammit, I need this game in my life right now. Not long to go now!
