The PC platform was going as strong as ever this year with major releases all year around from some of the biggest names in the business.
After a wait that is way longer than any wait should ever be, Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty was finally released to the world. Civilization is back, World of Warcraft saw its biggest update since its launch and Bioware were doing their thing too.
Which PC title had our butts firmly planted to our seats in 2010?
Here are the nominees for best PC game :
Sid Meier’s Civilization V
Starcraft 2
Mass Effect 2
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
And the award goes to:
Winner: Starcraft 2
Starcraft 2 may have taken forever and a day to release but when it finally did, minds where blown, wrists were injured and Koreans were filled with bliss.
Starcraft 2 encompasses all that it means to be a PC super-franchise. Smart, balanced and addictive gameplay with a solid single player campaign to go along with one of the most hardcore and competitive multiplayer modes to date.
Starcraft 2 is everything that makes up a great PC title, and we loved it more than any other in 2010.
Runner-Up: Mass Effect 2

When I tried to install this page it told me that my system does not meet the requirements… that is what I think of PC gaming *ducks*

@ Milni – If you give your newly acquired RB3 to me I’ll teach you all about PCs
I agree with the winner and runner up but another mentionable addition must’ve been F1 2010. With a active modding community and excellent base game it truly made me happy to also be a PC gamer this year.

I played it but the only way I could get it to run on my pc was to make all the settings on low but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the game

As tempting as that sounds, I will have to decline. The memory of my frustrations with PC games keeps me far away. :-p

Come on. Where is the Civ 5 Love? Mass Effect already won the 360 award.

I think this one was a no-brainer. Starcraft 2 is just so damn good, and one of the few games where you honestly “could not play this properly with a controller”

There is no way that anything could’ve beaten the excitement of SC2 after a 12 year wait.

I’m not too fond of any of the nominees. All of them are rehashed games. Meh. SC2 was the best out of them though

I agree, where is the Civ 5 award. I think Korea had vote fixing in this award.
Civ 5 is actually the game that got me to play games on the PC again this year.

I would still have gone with Mass Effect 2, but Star Craft 2 is a worthy winner.
