Handhelds used to be simple. In other words, a handheld was a Nintendo Gameboy and everything else was a failure. Nowadays, things have changed and even though Nintendo is still going strong with the Nintendo DS, the world of smartphones has made a rather large impact in the world of gaming.
Here are the nominees for best handheld game :
Game Dev Story
Infinity Blade
Angry birds
Cut The rope
God of War : Ghost of Sparta
And the award goes to:
Winner: Game Dev Story
Who doesn’t want to play a game about a company making games that people can play, which could possibly be a game about playing a game about a company making games. What? I don’t know.
Game Dev Story takes our top spot, not only because it will only set you back $3.99 but because it’s damn awesome as well.
Runner-Up: God of War: Ghost of Sparta

Cut the Rope is simply the most addictive game I have ever played. Ever.

Couldn’t disagree more. Angry Birds is fun, addictive, challenging and free (on Android). Every single person that’s played Angry Birds on my phone has loved it and can’t stop asking to play it.

When I eventually get an iDevice, I’ll definitely get Game Dev Story …. until then, I’ll just have to play-act it at work 😛

Having played all the games on this list I have to disagree strongly. Infinity Blade is a masterful achievement and should be experienced by everyone. It deserves all the praise it can get!

I would have voted for Angry birds for the following reasons:
Price point = $1
Longer gameplay
Better use of Touch screen control
70 000 4 Star rating must count for something..

Infinity Blade is mind blowing from a technical perspective, but in essence it’s an extremely repetitive on rails fighter. Having said that, it’s still fucking awesome though and I just can’t put it down.
