South Park (2)

South Park: The Stick of Truth had some…interesting choices for enemies.

A combination of fantasy tropes, fart jokes and collecting Chinpokomon, The Stick of Truth was South Park at its very best. Which in this case, meant completely unrestricted humour that even that legendary cartoon series couldn’t get away with on late-night television. Here’s where things get interesting: South Park as a series, has become somewhat divisive in the last couple of years.

This has been a divide born of its usual approach of providing an opinion on topical matters from a different perspective, where South Park often sits on the middle of the fence before it actually takes a stand and a definite side. That has resulted in people from both sides of the ideological divide having something to say about the cult cartoon. That’s good, that’s brilliant.

Because what matters isn’t just taking a side, but creating a dialogue and hashing out differences. I’ve got no doubt that the latest season of South Park will create plenty of fuel for the fire yet again, but that’s not why I’m watching the series. I’m tuning in for a much simpler reason: I just want a solid story and a laugh at some rude toilet humour.

Honestly, I’m here for the fart jokes. I’m here to make bullies vomit after I chuck lethal ass gas at them. Especially in South Park: The Fractured But Whole, which might be taking that benchmark for bad taste even further when it releases next October because it has an enemy deadlier than Man-Bear-Pig or Nazi abortions: Catholic priests.

Here’s a look at the newest enemies in South Park: The Fractured But Whole, men of the cloth who want you to feel the love of their lord all over your face and chest. It’s…disturbing, to say the least, so I recommend not watching at work. Or around your family:

Yeah, that’s bound to push some buttons, especially when you see what Rosary beads are really used for.
