While I can no longer really say that I completely prefer one console over the other anymore, there is one opinion I have that I completely stick to and won’t change no matter what anyone tells me.
The aforementioned opinion, which you can probably guess from the title by now, is that the Xbox 360 is by far the better controller when compared to the Playstation 3’s Dualshock. Sure, its d-pad isn’t all that and a bag of chips, but its ergonomics, triggers and thumbstick placement, shape and feel completely overshadow that issue by a mile.
Nyko is releasing a new Xbox 360 inspired controller for the PS3 in September called The Raven, and it looks awesome.
The Raven takes all the features that makes the Xbox 360 such a great controller and even improves it with what looks to be a better d-pad. The entire controller is also covered in a grippy surface, is wireless and has even added a bit more weight compared to the standard controller as well.
The controller is priced in the US at $40.00, and that really isn’t bad considering that it looks like a high quality product and is being well received by those who have tested it.
I’m still not sure if the controller will be available in South Africa yet, but if we get any news we will get it to you. On the flip side, if you are a part of any local stores and have any information, drop us a line and let us know.
[Edit: Since writing this post I also happened to stumble onto another Xbox 360 styled controller called the Power A, you can check it out here .]
