The Steam Autumn Sale has begun

Going outside during Black Friday, is a fool’s errand. Chances are, you’re going to come home with a few bargains and even fewer teeth, as a special kind of retail madness descends on mobs of shoppers who are oddly desperate for a 3% discount on low-fat margarine. Weird, I know. The truly savvy shopper doesn’t need to venture outside, because thanks to ecommerce we can get our hands on whatever we want and have it delivered to our door.

Heck, insult the delivery driver, and you get a customary Black Friday elbow to the throat NO I’M KIDDING DON’T DO THAT! Anyway, ’tis the season for bargains currently and as was predicted last month, Steam is kicking off its Autumn Sale right meow. As usual, there are plenty of chuffing good deals available. Age of Empires II HD Edition is a mere R43.80, Nier Automata will set you back a few cents under R350 and newly arrived punktastic sandbox Sunset Overdrive is retailing for R219 currently. Here’s a few more games which I reckon are superb:

  • Age of Empires II HD (PC) – R43.80
  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (PC) – R568.83
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy (PC) – R363.35
  • Cuphead (PC/Mac) – R175.20
  • Dark Souls III Deluxe Edition (PC) – R320.40
  • Dead Cells (PC/Mac) – R171.91
  • Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition (PC) – R317.85
  • Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (PC) – R559.30
  • F1 2018 (PC) – R164.50
  • Fallout 4 (PC) – R199.50
  • Far Cry 5 (PC) – R424.50
  • Frostpunk (PC) – R117.25
  • Grand Theft Auto V (PC) – R329.34
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (PC) – R159.50
  • HITMAN Game of The Year Edition (PC) – R149
  • NieR: Automata (PC) – R349.50
  • No Man’s Sky (PC) – R299.50
  • Rocket League (PC/Mac) – R109.50
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization VI (PC/Mac) – R269.70
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (PC) – R309.99
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GOTY Edition (PC) – R199.60
  • Valkyria Chronicles 4 (PC) – R464.50
  • Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (PC) – R87.50

This year also sees the Steam Awards back in action, where users can nominate games for awards such as game of the year, best alternate history and most fun with a machine. No, really. Nominating games, actually playing them and posting your own thoughts will earn you badges, with each one granting you 25XP in the Steam client.

There are still no flash sales however, so booooooooo. The Steam Autumn Sale runs from now until November 27, although there will be an end of year blow out to drop some coin on should you be too bankrupt to grab any cheap deals here.

7 Days to Die is like R90. Alpha 17 has hit experimental. If ever there was a time to try the game now would be it.

Alpha 17 is truly a game changer as in the game has been changed dramatically.

Just remember to shop around. Everyone’s having sales this week. Lots of stuff on Humble and Fanatical are way cheaper than Steam…even with Steam being in Randelas.

Yea, that helps a lot. I’ve already bought from there today.

And they have their Black Friday win a game thing now too…which I can hopefully win Battletech.

    Rocket League (PC/Mac) – R109.50

Go for it guys. It’s just a hunned’ bill and even if you don’t end up playing it religiously like many of us, you will have a few hours of occasional fun. I guarantee.

Raft has been teasing me for a long time, but my wife and I first need to finish Stardew Valley co-op, and then Card Life…which is looking excellent.

No need to add more steam games at this point in time, I have played about 3% of my library, now that’s a serious problem xD
