You know what’s better than a new game? A cheap game. Because yes, not everyone has upwards of R800 or more to throw down on a new game, money which could be better spent on food or more alcohol to help me actually drown the memory of the time that I spent that much cash on a game that I didn’t actually like. F***ing Brink. Never again, never again dammit. Moving on, Xbox is bringing back their Ultimate Sale from tomorrow, according to a leak. Here’s what you can find, for cheap cheap.

According to a NeoGAF thread, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will see a 25% discount for a game that only has 25% of its multiplayer actually working, while games such as Middle-Earth: Shadow Of Mordor, Alien: Isolation, Destiny and The Crew will receive up to a 60% slash in prices. Gold subscribers will get even bigger discounts, on various games. Here’s a  full list of what’s on offer, click to embiggen:

Xbox

Final prices have yet to be confirmed, but it’s worth taking a peek at your Xbox Live store to get an idea of how much you’ll be saving on anything that does catch your eye here. I’d check to see if any of the specials are up, but I’m stuck downloading yet another 2GB update right now. There’ll also be some Xbox 360 games getting a deal or two. Pretty much everything from Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham to to Grand Theft Auto V will be that much cheaper. Provided you have any funds left over from Valentine’s Day, and what I presume to be the expensive counselling that was needed in order to help forget that you took your date to go see 50 Shades Of Grey.

Not missing much. I have rarely used mine. If I played all my Xbox games on it for longer then a total of 3 days it’s a lot.

I was also very curios about it, and for R119 it is an awesome time to do that.

Ok. So what is Killer Instinct? I play NO FPS games, but I keep hearing it referred to as some sort of holy game spoken of in quite, reverential terms.

Killer Instinct is a fighting game developed by Rage back in 1994. It is very combo intensive but most people seems to get the hang of it. This is the third entry in the series. I’d check a couple of videos before buying it if I were you.

Primary Keys are above my pay grade but my free thoughts on KI are as follows:
Killer Instinct was a supposed natural arcade successor to Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat (it wasn’t). Unfortunately it was released the same year as Tekken which was considered superior in almost every way. It was mostly held in high regard due to it’s 3d’esque graphics and great port to the SNES back in the day. Some would correctly argue that both SF2 and Mortal Kombat were superior arcade ‘ports’ on the SNES and more complete title’s until Tekken arrived on the Playstation a couple of years after.
Personally, I still crank up SF2 before any of the other titles.

Come on Watchdogs wasn’t that bad of a game! It had solid ideas, with a decent story line, the controls wasn’t terrible and I actually liked Aiden for not being an emotional wreck!! I give it a good old 7.5… @bradymiaau:disqus if it is cheap it is definitely worth your time!! I would pick up the sequel day one!!

I couldn’t get into it. It just felt extremely shallow to me and not very immersive when compared to Shadow of Mordor or GTA. My opinion, not definitive but not for me.

Update: My SA Xbox account has allowed to buy some games already, but the dates given are 17 to 23 feb, not 18 to 24.

Some games, like Lord of the Fallen are not as yet on Sale but most on this list are. Perhaps a US account would have more games for sale?

You know what I hated most about the PS3? When you switched the thing on to game it started downloading a system update or an update for a game, it always felt like you had to give it 30 minutes just to update before you could play any games!! It would seem that this is now the XBone…
