The Vita is saved!

Sony’s PlayStation Vita is a pretty slick and wonderful handheld – that’s just not doing very well because nobody on the planet is really convinced that they need to own one. the reason for that is that the system just doesn’t have its killer app. That changes soon. The Vita, I assure you, is going to do just fine after this baby’s released.

Ladies and Gentleman, this is PlayStation Vita Pets, which is absolutely, not-at-all, in no way an attempt by Sony to capitalise on the popularity of Nintendogs. Because they want PlayStation pets to be more than a mere pet sim.

"We set out to make something that was more than just a pet sim – we wanted to make something that felt like a real game, with characters, fun and adventure," says creative director Kevin Oxland.

"Once you’ve gotten to know each other and learned the skills needed to venture outside the safety of your home you’ll be able to embark on the adventure of Castlewood Island," he explained.

Check it out. Why in the name of all that is holy is that virtual dog TALKING TO ME? WHY?

Not me. Someone messed with me for what I liked, I would kick their butt.

            No tolerance for stupid bullies.
            But…I thought Tamagotchi was boring.

Vita is suffering from PSP syndrome, it is full of ports and it is going to take a while before it really becomes a popular machine., PSP was pretty late in it’s life cycle when it just started getting freaking awesome games. that said , Vita has a F**k ton of amazing games that no one cares to ever mention, even if if some are ports

I don’t know why people are so bitchy with this game. It’s existence doesn’t stop the potential for something like Uncharted, GoW, inFamous, Patapon, LocoRoco, Gravity Rush 2, Soul Sacrifice 2, etc. Type games.

This developer has always made games like this and will continue to do so. It’s just another game to add to the library, which is now a bad thing? I guess Sony should reduce their output to what gamers “care about”. Which is nothing, because all I see is talk from people who whine about Vita. Usually citing “no games” or “two games” that they have on Vita. When there are easily more worthy of playing games only on Vita.

On a serious note, Persona 4 and the PS1 ports definitely made it worth it. Oh, and FFX when it eventually releases.

Well, to be fair, it does look more fun than Nintendogs…not that THAT is hard to do. Nintendogs had to be the most boring game I think I’ve played.
