Glitches can, quite simply, break a game. They can also make it far more hilarious than it was originally intended to be, as most people playing Assassin’s Creed Unity found out this week. An ambitious game, Assassin’s Creed Unity may not have spent that extra month properly as the game fields plenty of game-changing bugs right now,t featuring everything from sticky flags to skewered villagers. And honestly, I love the game for them.
So that everyone can see it and get into trouble with their boss when they burst out laughing, I’ve used the vidd.me option for embedding the glitch videos. Enjoy!
The Thing glitch
Flag glitch
People glitch
Gimme back that body!
Talk about a hard landing
Skewered villagers glitch
Fireplace hermit
Do the roof scramble
Just hangin’ around
Mime attack
I still think the game looks beautiful. Beautifully broken that is. Ubisoft is aware of this, and are working on a patch. To go with the current day one update that clocks in at one entire gigglebyte. There’ll most likely be a ton more glitches discovered. Do share them with us, if you get the chance to capture them.
@Kadirius Hey Kadir, our teams are aware of the issues and are currently working on a fix. We’ll keep you updated.

After playing Shadow of Mordor I dont understand why ANYBODY would want that shit collision detection from Assassins Creed. That combat is a joke.

So clearly the game was not ready to be released. So Ubishit released a beta that they will fix later on. But they made money off the beta already. Get the world to test the game and pay for the game.
I don’t buy Ubisoft games. I’ve not bought a Ubisoft game in years.

If I had bought this game I would have definitely used the share function on the PS4. I bet Ubisoft curses that function at the moment

Videos I can watch!
Some glitches I don’t mind, there are bound to be some problems as games are getting bigger and bigger. But some of these are damn funny. Especially the fiddler on the roof.

Even without the glitches has anybody noticed how his feet ice skate on the ground? I do not remember that in Assassin 1.
I knew they would fuck up, but not this bad.
Anybody Pre-Order The Division? Good luck.

Some glitches where you have to do a combination of things for it to happen I can understand, but all those above looked like basic gameplay. They are funny to watch, might be funny when it happens in game, but I have played too many games where I just completed a difficult mission and then the laws of physics go apeshit. That’s not funny at all.

Is it just me or does anybody else get really angry at the fact that a game that’s going to cost hundreds of rands has so many glitches despite a Day One patch? I don’t remember experiencing any glitches like in the above videos in any other Ass Creed games on release.

I found 2 minor glitches last night.
The first was where Arno grabbed onto a plank in the middle of the platform rather than the edge and couldn’t pull himself up.
The second was when I was running around in the catacombs under Notre Dam and Arno decided to go for a quick dip. He fully submerged himself in the 3 cm deep water and then immediately emerged and continued running as though nothing had happened.

Something I realised at the launch event last night when they were playing the dev commentary video, there were 10 studios working on the game over 4 years which of course means there was a lot of code hand-overs and code merging going on.
It’s no wonder there are minor bugs like these if half the time the dev working on the code hasn’t seen it before and has just been given someone else work to finish.

also, ten studios and 4 years and they couldnt get it right 😛

That spells problems. for sure.
I have taken over projects that have been through several hands and there are always little problems. Some person reckons this core item is complete (according to the logs or whatever) when in reality it is not. So more work is done on top of that, based on the assumption it is good. And so and so on.
Too many crooks can spoil the sheep and all that.
