Modern Warfare 3 developer Infinity Ward has admitted that there’s a nasty glitch in the latest DLC for the game that lets players go under the map.

It’s entirely their fault for releasing buggy DLC – but they’ll ban you for utilising the glitch.

“There’s a glitch in Black Box that allows you to get under the map. Fix already in the works, out by Friday. Don’t exploit, we’ll be banning,” tweeted Infinity Ward’s creative strategist Robert Bowling.

That fix will be out today – and though I despise cheaters, hackers, glitchers and those who use exploits in online games – but is it OK for IW to ban players for exploiting holes in their code?

Modern Warfare 3 fans seems to think not.

“Shouldn’t be banning people for your mistakes. Let them have their fun but hurry up and fix it,” replied one Twitter follower.

“Big man handing out bans for releasing a broken map. I bet you sleep well at night knowing you hand out bs bans. ;),” said another.

The Black Box map is available on Xbox 360 right now, and will be hitting PC and PS3 at a later stage – with the patch already in place. thanks for beta-testing, Xbox gamers!
