Warlock (11)

Say what you like about Destiny, a video game where saving the universe rewards you with a gun that was picked from the bargain bin, but it’s hard to deny how Bungie’s big franchise has managed to create a very unique look for itself. In an industry filled with all manner of SPAAACE adventures, astronauts and guns which defy the laws of gravity, Destiny looks unique and gorgeous in action.

Whether it’s the nightmare fuel of the Hive, the more militant design of the Cabal who look like Fifth Element Mondoshawans who ain’t taking no crap from those fugly Mangalores or even the time-bending Vex, Destiny looks great. And for anyone obsessed with cosmetics, that idea is alive and kicking with the Guardians that players play as.

Thanks to recent updates and expansions, creating a Guardian who looks ready for battle and style, isn’t too difficult. Infusions keep your favourite armour up to date, while the new Chroma system gives your gear a touch of class and colour. If I had the bucks, I’d forsake my T-shirt and jeans and just wear Guardian armour all day, because that stuff looks snazzy.

But this might just be the next best thing. Last year, 3A revealed a new Destiny Titan collectible. Big, bulky and ready for battle, this Titan looked magnificent. And he’ll finally have some company, as Hunter and Warlock figures are on the way. Each figure from 3A will ship with four weapons spread across the three rarities of gear available if you purchase direct from 3A and Bungie.

Here’s the three varieties that the Warlock ships in:

I think I’m in love. Pre-orders open on July 7 for the Warlock and July 21 for the Hunter figures.  Each figure will set you back $190. Anyone here want to buy some organs? Fresh out of the cadaver, and in no way related to Matty’s death which was caused by naturally malfunctioning brake lines on his car.

  1. Can we preorder and receive different shaders or guns for the figurine? How much is the MT to make it do the Carlton dance?

At least it’ll still work when you put it on top of an Xbox 360.
