Turtles

I’m probably in the majority here, but…I liked the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie that came out last year. It was all kinds of stupid to an absurd degree, but then again what do you expect from a movie about anthropomorphic turtles trained in ninjutsu? What I really dug however, was the entire design of the film. Splinter still looks like a nightmare fuel creation to me, but the turtles themselves looked unique and deadly. And sort of like they were related to president Jacob Zuma. Naturally characters that cool, deserve some merchandising. Which is just what’s happening.

Each turtle is getting an inaction figure, or a polystone replica from Sideshow Collectibles and Prime 1. I’ve rounded them all up below, with their measurements and price:

Michelangelo

  • Height – 508mm
  • Width – 469.9mm
  • Length – 338.62mm
  • Price – $699.99

Donatello

  • Height – 629.92mm
  • Width – 609.6mm
  • Length – 449mm
  • Price – $749

Raphael

  • Height – 549.91mm
  • Width – 549.91mm
  • Length – 449.8mm
  • Price – $699

Leonardo

  • Height  – 580mm
  • Width – 199.39
  • Length – 400mm
  • Price – $699

I’m still waiting for a proper Shredder figure. Because that’s the only character who matters.

Looks cool, but you can’t go and play in the muddy garden with them like the old ones. I only had the 4 turtles and one Foot soldier, an would’ve killed to have Shredder and/or Bebop and Rocksteady 😛

Not to brag: I had the whole collection. HAD being the operative word. I know I know. I still kick my own ass from time to time. OK. Still kick my own ass permanently. In fact, at night, I go to bars to pick a fight with the biggest dude in there.
Just so I can get my ass kicked.

Oh yes you had better 🙂
Also, I would’ve committed regicide for a proper Technodrome 😛

Why can’t the lottery want me to have that Leo statue… It even took me a long time to moderately accept these new designs for that movie, but the sculptors did a good job on this.

And they come with a free, sewer soiled manual on how to be a ninja.

The movie was okay, but the I really liked the character designs for the turtles. I think they gave a lot of attention to that. I hated the character design for Shredder though. They make him seem weak if he didn’t have that powered mechanical suit when he ventures out. The action figures are very cool as well, but alas, I do not have $699 lying around!

I LOVED the Shredder redesign. That armour was ridiculously imposing, and cool as could be.
