This is why I hate watching TV – Ubisoft’s new ad campaign

I don’t watch a lot of TV at all. I find it boring, not very stimulating and ninety percent of what’s on is sputum-ladened bull crap anyhow. I’d far rather play games. At least they require me to do something more than just sit on my butt, blithely absorbing whatever bollocks is piped through to me.

Which leads me to this post and the realisation that when crappy TV shows start invading my preferred entertainment medium, I get upset. I’d never heard of the program Jersey Shore until a few days ago when my girlfriend was watching Ellen DeGeneres interview the stars of the show. I don’t even know what it’s about but the mere sight of the Jersey Shore group, with their conspicuous douche-baggery nature branded all over their ridiculously tanned faces, led me to think that it’s one of those shows that appeals to the lowest common denominator and yet is somehow wildly popular. So why, Ubisoft, did you get these losers to endorse your new game?

The advert is for Just Dance 2. I’ll just leave this here for you guys to watch and face-palm into oblivion. If the quality of the Youtube video is too hideous for you, and you need to see “Snooki” (seriously? She calls herself that?) in a higher resolution, then head over to Kotaku to see a better version.

That was Snooki? Huh. I thought she was skinnier. Oh well, I can’t stand them anyway. 🙂

You sure you’re not thinking about Sookie from True Blood who is far skinnier…

don’t they know the rules? It’s in the rulebook somewhere “You may only advertise dance games with hot asian chicks. No exceptions. Ever”.

I’m pretty sure, but I don’t watch Jersey Shore or True Blood … so I’m far from positive…
