Well shi-

If you’ve ever seen me play Dark Souls, you’d agree that I completely suck at the game. On the other end of the spectrum though, are people who have mastered it completely, owning it six ways from Sunday. And if you’re playing the game on PC, then prepare to die all over again. With this mod.

One aspect of Dark Souls that works to the advantage of players, is figuring out an enemy routine. Nail that down, and you’ll soon find yourself shredding the gnarliest of bosses. But this mod from JITD however, changes the game completely by altering one aspect of enemies: Their aggression.

Here’s a list of changes:

  • Enemies will hunt you from far away just to kick your ass
  • Invisible barriers are gone
  • More NPCs will follow you around, especially into places where they really shouldn’t

VaatiVidya has a playthrough of the game with this mod enabled at the bottom of the story, which is just brutal to watch. So, you think you’re ‘ard?

Yeah right, I’m going to install a mod that makes running away even harder. Er… I mean… fighting.

Don’t remember what class I chose heh. I’m playing a more medium armoured sword & shield character – although I’ve got my strength up to carry a big ass shield. Once you get a few levels under your belt it becomes a bit easier, at least then you can take a hit or two & keep on rocking.

If you haven’t found out yet, bigger/boss fights are easier the lighter & more maneuverable you are – at the cost of being one hit killed if you make a mistake lol. Keep the armour & shield for normal fights.

How far are you in it?

But that’s how I beat the game! I ran past enemies to get to the boss fights at the end. Especially the last boss.

That last part is the area I farm all of the items I need to upgrade my weapons 🙂

Agreed, but you can only upgrade so much. My body was ready for the final boss and even though he killed me many times. One only needs to defeat him once.
