Thanos (6)

I’ve had a run-in with that Thanos bloke before. Nice guy, really friendly and actually fantastic to chat to once you get over the whole “having a gigantic gaping hole blasted into my chest with lightning eyes”. I think he came across as a bit of a bad guy in last year’s Guardians Of The Galaxy movie,a  purple-skinned tyrant who threatened to smack the universe with an Infinity Gem that was basically a concentrated extinction-level event waiting to happen. It’s time to get to know the real Thanos.

Based on his appearance in Guardians Of The Galaxy, Sideshow Collectible’s replica of the Mad Titan clocks in at a height of 15” (381mm), and features a detailed head sculpt, armour and LEDs. And a totally bitchin’ space-throne. Here’s the full list of details from Sideshow:

The Thanos Sixth Scale Collectible Figure specially features:

  • Authentic and detailed likeness of Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Newly developed helmeted head sculpt with movie-accurate facial expression and detailed skin texture
  • Newly sculpted muscular body with over 22 points of articulation
  • Approximately 38 cm tall
  • Three (3) pairs of interchangeable palms including:
    – One (1) pair of fists
    – One (1) pair of relaxed palms
    – One (1) pair of clenching palms
  • Each piece of head sculpt is specially hand-painted

Costume:

  • One (1) metallic gold, dark grey and dark purple colored armor
  • One (1) pair of metallic gold, dark grey and dark purple colored bicep armor
  • One (1) pair of metallic gold, dark grey and dark purple colored gauntlets
  • One (1) pair of metallic gold and dark purple colored greaves
  • One (1) pair of metallic gold colored boots

Accessories:

  • Thanos’ throne with LED light-up function (white light, battery operated)
  • Diamond-shaped base with transparent pillars, Thanos’ nameplate and movie logo

The price? A rather hefty $414.99, or R4809. And 46 cents. You could buy a space-throne of your own for that price.

  1. You have to be a bit soft in the head to buy that.
