Tiger Woods 11 to support the PlayStation Arc

Tiger Woods 11 is being released on the 8th of June and EA have also announced that it will include full PlayStation motion support on it’s release to

"give gamers an authentic interactive swing experience."

A motion controller in a golf game is the most logical idea but it’s surprising to see them guaranteeing support prior to the release of the PlayStation Arc, I guess this means it is pretty much ready to go already.

Strangely enough they didn’t announce anything about support for Project Natal which would seem to be the perfect technology for this as the game could take into effect your entire body swing and not just the arm movements.

Unfortunately try as I might I couldn’t come up with an intelligent quip about Tiger Woods’ extra marital affairs and motion control. Anyone else got a good one?

My only guess would be an accuracy problem? But from the specs we’ve been given it seems like it should be fine. Maybe there will be more announcements at GDC today and tomorrow.

Why he cheated on that? Not to put too fine a point on it, but probably there are things that she wouldn’t do that the Porn stars would.

Natal tracking is not good enough for that I think. It will not have the precise inputs you can get from the sensors in the arc.
I think Sony made a good choice making it almost like the Wii’s controls.

I am not sure if its a case of Natal not being good enough or possibly too good. If the average gamer’s golf swing had to be realistically tracked in a 3-D space they would suck something fierce. I base this assesment on the difference between me playing golf on the wii with me playing golf on a real course. I for one certainly would appreciate a realistic golf simulator to practice with but doubt my wife would appreciate a 7-iron embedded in the lounge ceiling.

Well Natal should be better as it may allow you to use a real golf club and then go psycho on the lounge once you lose miserably
