Too Human

Hands up who saw this coming after that demo.

While the demo had a decent reception there were some very loud complaints about certain parts of the game and it looks like all of those complaints (and more) have manifested themselves into the game itself.

Gamespot, without a single Too Human banner in site, has ripped into the game quite badly and ended up giving it a paltry 5.5/10 (Mediocre)

They complained about the convulted story, lack of decent range combat and dodgy area attacks.

So maybe someone at Gamespot has an axe to grind with Silicon Knights? Well if that is the case then most sites have an axe to grind as the Metacritic score is currently sitting at a pathetic 67% with only Gamepro giving it a decent 80% score.

Keep an eye out in the next day or two for our own review (we are working on getting review copies before you one of these days)

    And yet the game is also getting good reviews from people like Arstechnica…

    I loved the demo. I have 2 copies pre-ordered for this puppy!

    This is going to be a epic lootfest to play with the missus. 🙂

    Same here. Pre-ordered and can’t wait. The issues gamespot bring up like combat and camera etc honestly have not troubled me at all in my experience with the demo. It seems people either “get” this game or they don’t which is fair enough i guess.

    IGN – 7.8 out of 10
    Gamespot – 5.5 out of 10
    Game Informer – 6.75 out of 10
    1Up – 6/10
    Gameplayer = 7/10
    Gamepro = 4/5 (8 out of 10)
    Planetxbox360 8.7/10

    It’s quite a mix.

    this game will sell a lot,
    First week it will sell more than haze (370 000) and lair (340 000) just in its first week, and long term it should
    pass heavenly sord easily.

    My first week prediction would be 350 000 to 500 000
    and lifetime of 1.5 million to 2 Million

    I think it’s just a case of it being a hardcore niche title.

    If you like that sort of thing it’s awesome, but it makes no attempt to make new friends (Well except maybe those diablo fanboys freaking about Diablo 3 being to “friendly” 😉 )

    I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there. Especially when it comes to the story. From the reviews it seems very little background is given to the Norse mythology it’s based on which is frustrating for some. I think SK assumed everyone would know that sort of thing already.

    For those who are interested there is a great forum at http://www.toohuman.net which has a mythology section if you want to brush up before release

    If you look around long enough, you can find good reviews for Haze and Lair as well. 😆

    I guess this game is ok for people looking for a loot fest, but it’s really not a great game judging from the demo.

    i think it’s greek and roman mythology that is better known to the masses.
