Top 10 reasons the Wii is killing the PS3 and 360

Old-wizard.com has posted up its 10 reasons why the Wii is dominating the PS3 in this generation and to be honest I think a bunch of their reasons are just plain silly.

For example I don’t think the Wii having a funny name is a major selling point and neither do I think the million of parents who bought the Wii did it because the “Wii has better fans”.

However their 10th point is possibly the most important one that I have never actually thought about and it applies to the war against the 360 as well.

The Wii is the only console that gets sold with a bundled game everytime, so a parent or ‘civilian’ can walk into the store and walk out with one box that will entertain them right from the start. The PS3 and 360 try to bundle games every now and then but either they bundle the best game at a high cost or some arb game that no one wants.

So the moral of the story is if you want to be a billionaire then make a console that is fun and easy to play and make sure you sell it for a good price with a free game. Easy enough…

So do you agree or is their another reason the Wii is set to take it’s third Christmas in a row?

“The PS3 and 360 try to bundle games every now and then…” ➡
Well the Arcade has had free games bundled with it from launch and even if it didn’t come with any games, it’s so cheap that you can get games like Naruto: Rise of a Ninja at R149, Orange Box at R299 and Kameo for R99 😉

When it comes to bying a console it depends who’s buying it first of all and secondly for what purpose or use.
Obviously mainly for gaming, but some like the interactivity or the multimedia futures.
It’s like buying a car, do you buy one to get you from A to B, to race or stand in your showroom?

I just cant see why people will want to buy a wii… Its stupid, its retarted and its just not worth my time. for the price you pay for having a SD console id say its a rip off.

Many people buy it because they think its user friendly and every game you egt on the other 2 consoles apply automatically for this one. well thats 35% true. most of the rearlier games were ported to wii cause it could handle the graphics back then but look now.

I mean there was a review of you buying a game where you sqaush a box! I MEAN C’MON sqaush a box… you just dont get lower than that. ill stick to my HD console with over 300 titles to choose from thank you

the wii is a family console with interactive functions getting the player up and moving. As such it appeals to a wider variety of people and isnt narrowly focused towards gamers with a stronger interest in realler looking, more serious or simulative gameplay. While this isnt neccesarily a bad thing (I myself prefer 360) there is alot more interest in a console that keeps the player active and on the move than one focused on gamers intrests alone. Or atleast thats my theory.
