Volcanion

The Pokémon menagerie has been growing steadily over the years, adding all manner of abominations and supernatural pets to each iteration of the franchise. Right now, the official number of Pokémon has grown by one, meaning that you’ll need to collect all 721 of the beasties before you’ll be taken seriously in life.

And that latest Pokémon, has been kicking around for two years already. Back in 2013 when Pokémon X and Y was released, hackers tore the 3DS ROM a new one and found files for a trio of unrevealed Pokémon: Diancie, Hoopa and Volcanion. Diancie and Hoopa were slowly revealed and officially distributed since X and Y launched, while Volcanion remained in limbo.

When Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire launched last year, Volcanion was pretty much completely figured out by then, as it happens to be the very first Water and Fire-type dual hybrid Pokémon. Or if you look at him, he’s most certainly known as the overclocking Pokémon. Nintendo has finally gone ahead and approved of his existence this week, releasing the following 100% legit description of the latest legendary:

Volcanion is a rare Mythical Pokémon that cannot be found during normal gameplay. Unlike any other Pokémon, Volcanion is both Fire- and Water- type. This Pokémon uses fire and water to create steam within its body, expelling explosive shock waves and scalding steam from the arms on its back.

Volcanion’s power is said to be so great it can destroy an entire mountain, gouging out the earth and changing the shape of the land!

The only thing that hasn’t been revealed for Volcanion, is just when the hell he’ll be officially distributed. Although I’d expect some sort of news regarding that, when the latest Pokémon movie debuts on December 19.

Getting hold of these event exclusive Pokemon is such a pain. Maybe we will be lucky with distribution 😛
